Raw Living Spirulina is literally alive. There are approx. 35 Billion tiny bioactive cells of Spirulina inside the jar.
Each one is like a tiny water balloon.
1. Imagine these living cells inside a blender. The blades would rupture them creating immediate oxidation damaging the vital living nutrients inside.
2. Spirulina does not contain cellulose (fiber) so for maximum bioavailability, one should consume the Spirulina by itself (not together with any other fiber food).
Mixing the Spirulina with other foods with fiber will slow and minimize the absorbability of the nutrients as they pass on down through the entire digestive system.
Consuming the Spirulina by itself on an empty stomach first thing in the am, will allow the body to easily and quickly (10-15 min) assimilate the nutrients directly into the bloodstream through the upper digestive system.
For therapeutic purposes, we highly recommend not mixing with any other foods, especially in a blender.
For recreational purposes adding it to a smoothie at the end by gently stirring in with a whisk is ok.
