Yes, you certainly can add freshly squeezed lemon or lime juice to the RLS in the am.
Raw Living Spirulina is a whole food that is 10.3 – 10.5 ph (very high alkaline) and lemon and lime are by contrast on the acid side of the spectrum.
So, as long as you drink it within 10-15 minutes you’ll be good. However, it is not recommended to allow RLS to stay in a lemon or lime juice while in the fresh state for over 15 minutes as the contrasting acid can break the living Spirulina cells with osmotic shock. It would however be ok to allow RLS to be premixed in distilled or natural 7ph+ spring water in the refrigerator with a lid on up to 4 hours.
It would also be good and recommended to add some lemon or lime juice to then RLS mix and then freeze in the ice cube trays. The ascorbic acid will act as a preservative, extending the freeze time.
