If you were to ask a practitioner of traditional medicine, “How can I reduce my body heat?” they’re likely to recommend adding more cooling foods and herbs to your diet in order to bring things into balance.
A variety of fruits, veggies, herbs, and other foods that you likely already include in your diet can potentially have a cooling effect, such as peppermint, lemons, coconut water, melons, etc.
LEMONADE for example, for us, is a LEGITIMATE SUMMER drink. A glass of lemonade helps with rehydration and remineralizes us during a season of so much sun, sweat, and heat. However, a good & healthy lemonade is hard to find. The ones available are filled with tablespoons or even cups of sugar and other stabilizers.
The following recipe isn’t what your grandmother once made, but I promise that if you serve it up to that gaggle of wellness-loving friends who’ve overtaken your pool this summer, they’ll beg you for more. Refreshing, alkalizing & absolutely delicious, this green Raw Living Spirulina lemonade offers endless summer vibes.
Enjoy!

The Benefits of Raw Living Spirulina Lemonade

Lemon Juice – Although acidic in nature, lemons produce an alkalizing effect in the body. They aid in digestion, detoxification, and support liver function while boosting energy and relieving belly bloating.
Enhances Immunity
Lemons are a good source of vitamin C, an important nutrient that’s been linked to increased immune health. In fact, gram for gram, there is about the same amount of vitamin C in lemon vs. orange nutrition.
Not only that but lemons are also loaded with antioxidants that can help fight inflammation and promote improved immunity.
A review in the Annals of Nutrition & Metabolism noted that getting enough vitamin C could help reduce the duration and severity of respiratory tract infections.
Lemons are also high in antioxidants. Antioxidants have been shown to protect your immune cells by neutralizing harmful free radicals and keeping your body free of infections caused by bacteria or viruses.
Royal Jelly
is produced by nurse worker bees for the sole purpose of feeding queen bees and raising new queen bees. Queen bees live for 3 to 4 years, where worker bees only live 5 to 6 weeks. This means royal jelly extends the queen bee’s life by over 3000%! Now there is no guarantee you’ll live 3000% longer than the average human by using royal jelly, but there are reports of lowered blood pressure, increased energy, fat loss, and skin rejuvenation when used topically.
Living Spring Water
Raw spring water is a healthy alternative to regular water because it’s completely natural and has not been filtered or processed in any way. Because it’s not treated at all, it contains a higher amount of minerals.
Some research has found that spring water is more alkaline which could help prevent acid reflux, decrease bone loss, boost hydration status, and support blood circulation.
Living Fresh Florida Coconut Water
There is no better liquid than fresh coconut water. Period! The health benefits are truly astounding. However, don’t waste your money on boxed, canned, or bottled coconut water. They are all pasteurized (dead water). Order fresh direct from the farm here in Florida. Just tell Larry (the owner) Tim from Raw Living Spirulina sent you.
Peppermint
For example, peppermint is among the most popular cooling herb, thanks to the presence of menthol in this plant that has a naturally chilling effect. Mint — fresh, in a lemonade like this— is especially helpful for supporting digestion and reducing stomach pain and inflammation.
