We ship Raw Living Spirulina via FedEx 2-Day Express every week, year-round, to all locations where FedEx delivers. This ensures the product arrives as quickly as possible, maintaining its freshness and nutritional integrity. We are aware of the excessive heat in many locations during the summer months, which can impact the product’s condition during transit.
Fresh Spirulina thrives in warm environments, growing in water temperatures around 95 degrees Fahrenheit inside our greenhouses. However, once harvested and sealed in a glass jar, maintaining a cool temperature is crucial for preserving its quality. The optimal temperature for the product during transit is under 41 degrees Fahrenheit.
To mitigate the effects of heat, we utilize custom cooler boxes designed to protect the product. These snug boxes are surrounded by Noric ice bricks and are designed to keep the product at a safe temperature under most conditions for up to 3 days, depending on location and ambient temperature.
When outside temperatures reach above 90 degrees Fahrenheit, the product must be retrieved immediately upon delivery (to prevent exposure to the elements or direct sunlight) and then removed from the box and placed directly into the refrigerator. If this is done, even in outside extreme temperatures, the Spirulina can be fine as long as there are no FedEx delivery delays.
We offer Priority Overnight Express as an upgrade at checkout for any concerns, which is recommended when outside temperatures exceed 90°F. We do not guarantee the cellular integrity of our products with our standard 2-day delivery when the delivery area temperature exceeds 90°F. Most of the time, it will be okay; however, please note that it carries a risk to the customer during these times.
