It’s perfectly fine! The denser consistency you’re experiencing is a result of our post-harvest dewatering methods, and it’s actually a good sign.
- Harvesting and Pressing: After harvesting our raw living spirulina, we press it to remove excess rinse water.
- Dryness and Concentration: The more we press, the thicker and more dense the spirulina becomes. This means you’re getting a higher concentration of spirulina biomass in each serving.
-
Rehydration at Use: We recommend rehydrating the spirulina immediately before consumption. This allows you to control the moisture level, ensuring the freshest possible experience.
-
Cellular Stability: The reduced water content is beneficial for the spirulina’s cellular integrity. Minimizing the water surrounding the cells helps protect them and extends the product’s shelf life.
- Freezing Considerations: If you choose to freeze your spirulina, it’s best to do so when there’s minimal extracellular water. This helps prevent the formation of ice crystals that could potentially damage the cells.
So, don’t worry about the dryness. It’s a natural part of our process, and your spirulina is still packed with all its amazing living nutrients.
